Salma Series: When the fire drill wasn`t a drilll

It was supposed to be a normal Wednesday.

Double history, breaktime samosas, and then that long boring ICT lesson where half the class slept with their eyes open.

Everything was moving like usual—until the siren went off.

BEEEEEP. BEEEEP. BEEEEEP.

Everyone froze.

People laughed at first. “It’s just a drill,” someone said.

Until the headmistress herself ran into the hallway. Running. In heels.

> “Out! Everyone outside NOW! Take nothing! Just move!”

That’s when it got real.

People grabbed bags anyway, hiding their phones in waistbands, shoving snacks into pockets. Some even took mirrors like it was a fashion show. We all ran to the assembly point like we’d trained for war.

But something was off.

There was no smoke. No fire truck. No smell. Just tension.

And suddenly—we heard screaming.

From the admin block.

Everyone turned.

Then silence.

Then more screaming.

Turns out, someone had broken into the staff room.

Not to steal food. Not to destroy school property.

No.

They broke into the teacher’s drawer cabinet.

And guess what they found?

A pile of marked exam papers. Midterm results. Unreleased.

Marked. Graded. With red pen and all.

Now here’s where the madness begins.

Someone—till this day, no one knows who—took a picture of the full results and sent them to the entire school via AirDrop and WhatsApp Broadcast. Just like that.

Every student. Every class. Every mark.

Somebody’s secrets got cooked.

Turns out that "sharp student" everyone respected had been failing.

That teacher’s pet who kept raising her hand? 13% in Biology.

And the quiet boy in the back who never talks? He was top 3.

People were crying. Literally. One girl fainted. Another one stormed out saying, “They marked me wrong on purpose!”

The teachers were furious. The headmaster threatened suspension. But the real question that shook the whole school was this:

Who did it?

CTV? Disconnected.

Witnesses? Blind and mute all of a sudden.

Even the teachers couldn’t figure out how the locked drawer was opened.

But then…

A clue dropped.

A small pink notebook was found behind the desk with a list of students’ names…

Next to each name: Marks. Weak subjects. And one word: “Exposed.”

Guess whose handwriting it was?

Nobody knew.

But rumors say there’s a student still walking around with a USB full of secrets.

And she’s not done yet.
